Cloud Net provides alternative Internet Phone for former Tesco VoIP customers

Walsall, 1 April 2010. Cloud Net, the small business VoIP provider, has come to the rescue of thousands of Tesco VoIP (voice over IP) and Talk Wi-Fi users by offering its Cloud Net Connect internet phone service as Tesco closes its VoIP operations at the end of April 2010.

Tesco VoIP customers who have previously purchased a Tesco internet phone and benefited from their cheap international calls and free calls within the Tesco network, will now be able to reap the benefits of Cloud Net's cutting-edge internet phone system. For a fixed fee from £8.50 a month, Cloud Net users gain unlimited, free phone calls to other Cloud Net users, a free IP handset and importantly for the small business users that have started to benefit from VoIP, all the features of a professional switchboard, including call re-direct, call recording, voicemail to email and teleconferencing - all within the fixed monthly fee.

Cloud Net users just pay for calls, at 0.9p per minute to landlines and 9.0p per minute* to mobiles and also benefit from low cost international calls. All Cloud Net calls are rounded to the nearest second rather than the nearest minute making the call as low cost as possible.

Tesco customers switching to Cloud Net's system will also receive a choice of phone numbers from Cloud Net's selection and can be up and running within 48 - 72 hours.

"We disagree with Tesco and believe that VoIP is a sustainable market and take the view of analyst firms such as Point Topic who have identified VoIP as being the best performing industry of the last decade world wide", said David Hill, Chairman of Cloud Net.

"We have invested heavily in our business and consumer VoIP service, and are confident that new Cloud Net customers will find that our Internet Phone service offers the best features and quality currently in the marketplace", added Charles Chance, Managing Director of Cloud Net.

The latest analysis from analysis firm Point Topic reveals that by the end of September 2009 VoIP subscriptions had grown by 15% in the first 3 quarters of the year to pass the 100 million milestone. In the UK alone, there are more than 2,950,000 subscribed VoIP users.**

 Landline UK Mobile UK
Tariff (up to 4 phones) 1.2p per minute 9.5p per minute
Standard Tariff (Between 5-20 phones) 1.0p per minute 9.2p per minute

**This analysis is taken from Point Topic's latest update to the Broadband Money Makers report IP Telephony. Point Topic includes only verifiable IP-based telephone subscriptions in these statistics. Services like Skype which are softclient (i.e. originating on the PC) and which do not report user numbers but only ‘‘minutes'' of calls are excluded

URGENT! Cloud Net 0104 DECT Phone Recall

Cloud Net, the business phone company, is urgently contacting all its phone users after they discovered an error in the specification for their latest phone.

In common with most phone companies. they have been working towards multi-functional phones, which include additional useful features for consumers and business users alike.

Cloud Net Laser ShowThe Cloud Net management team had requested their engineers to include a laser pointer in their mobile 0104 DECT phone to enable PowerPoint users to highlight slides.

Unfortunately, the Cloud Net engineering team misread the request and in instead of producing a milliwatt laser to produce a small targeted light, the engineers installed a megawatt laser in the latest batch of phones which left their premises on 26 March 2010.

The mix up was discovered when a Walsall Cloud Net user used the phone at a business demonstration and produced a light so bright that it lit up the sky so that air traffic control across the Midlands was asked to divert all flights to Heathrow.

The megawatt laser is capable of downing planes at a range of twenty miles.

Walsall’s Cloud Net launches internet telephone service to regional businesses at ‘Business Growth Show’ 8 March 2010.

Kevin Box Serves up a phone to a customerWalsall based business phone systems company, Cloud Net, launched its internet-based (VoIP) telephone system to the Birmingham and Solihull business community, to an enthusiastic response, at the Business Growth Show in Edgbaston on 4th March.

“We have had a tremendous response from local businesses with 12 new prospects signed up to our first Associate Partner event on 10 March. We have also met with over 100 potential new users of our system during the day. The fact that our phone system allows small businesses and start-ups to keep costs low, whilst maintaining a professional image really struck a chord with the show’s visitors,” explains David Hill, Chairman of Cloud Net. “Our telephone system provides all the functionality of a costly PBX (switchboard) for a fixed monthly rate per handset of £8.50 along with free network calls and a free IP phone.”

The Cloud Net Connect telephone system is based around an online or ‘virtual ‘ switchboard giving users functionality such as call redirect, conferencing and call recording without the need for a PBX. The online switchboard works seamlessly between multiple locations and remote workers giving the impression users are all in one office.

“We’re the only VoIP provider in the UK that owns and manages its own network, enabling us to guarantee call quality, a vital requirement for businesses using VoIP technology,” adds David. “We also provide subscribers with an IP handset, further reducing capital outlay, which is pre-configured for each user, to simplify the installation process.”

Cloud Net has been trialled around Walsall and Staffordshire before a full regional and national roll out. Its clients include Claims Master, FLE Group, Presteen Associates, Bringing Enterprise to Life and Breathing Space. Customers range from start-ups and freelancers to SMEs moving offices or looking to cut costs.

The company’s straight-forward pricing structure removes the complexity of purchasing and running a small business communications system over the internet. Cloud Net’s ‘switchboard in the sky’ package is offered at a fixed price per handset starting at £8.50 for a standard unit and includes:

· PBX functionality: call redirect, voicemail, conferencing, call recording and ring-back

· Plug-and- play IP handset

· Free, high-quality calls over Cloud Net’s own IP network – ideal for multiple work-sites or remote workers

· Low cost calls outside the Cloud Net network (e.g. UK landline 0.9p per minute)

Cloud Net also offers a 30 day trial.
