Walsall’s Cloud Net launches internet telephone service to regional businesses at ‘Business Growth Show’
8 March 2010. Walsall based business phone systems company, Cloud Net, launched its internet-based (VoIP) telephone system to the Birmingham and Solihull business community, to an enthusiastic response, at the Business Growth Show in Edgbaston on 4th March.
“We have had a tremendous response from local businesses with 12 new prospects signed up to our first Associate Partner event on 10 March. We have also met with over 100 potential new users of our system during the day. The fact that our phone system allows small businesses and start-ups to keep costs low, whilst maintaining a professional image really struck a chord with the show’s visitors,” explains David Hill, Chairman of Cloud Net. “Our telephone system provides all the functionality of a costly PBX (switchboard) for a fixed monthly rate per handset of £8.50 along with free network calls and a free IP phone.”
The Cloud Net Connect telephone system is based around an online or ‘virtual ‘ switchboard giving users functionality such as call redirect, conferencing and call recording without the need for a PBX. The online switchboard works seamlessly between multiple locations and remote workers giving the impression users are all in one office.
“We’re the only VoIP provider in the UK that owns and manages its own network, enabling us to guarantee call quality, a vital requirement for businesses using VoIP technology,” adds David. “We also provide subscribers with an IP handset, further reducing capital outlay, which is pre-configured for each user, to simplify the installation process.”
Cloud Net has been trialled around Walsall and Staffordshire before a full regional and national roll out. Its clients include Claims Master, FLE Group, Presteen Associates, Bringing Enterprise to Life and Breathing Space. Customers range from start-ups and freelancers to SMEs moving offices or looking to cut costs.
The company’s straight-forward pricing structure removes the complexity of purchasing and running a small business communications system over the internet. Cloud Net’s ‘switchboard in the sky’ package is offered at a fixed price per handset starting at £8.50 for a standard unit and includes:
• PBX functionality: call redirect, voicemail, conferencing, call recording and ring-back
• Plug-and- play IP handset
• Free, high-quality calls over Cloud Net’s own IP network – ideal for multiple work-sites or remote workers
• Low cost calls outside the Cloud Net network (e.g. UK landline 0.9p per minute)
Cloud Net also offers a 30 day trial.

Full internet-based PBX system and inclusive handsets from £8.50 per user per month.
Walsall, 8 February 2010. Cloud Net has launched its Cloud Net Connect Hosted VoIP service for small businesses, start ups and freelancers in the UK. Cloud Net is the UK's only VoIP provider that guarantees call quality by owning and managing its own network and also providing its own Internet Protocol telephone handsets (for free).
Cloud Net Connect allows customers to replace their traditional small business telephone systems without any capital expenditure on either PBX hardware or handsets, meaning that Cloud Net customers do not need to purchase new VoIP phones to benefit from cheaper and free call rates.
The company offers its "Switchboard in the Sky" online PBX system on a monthly contract basis making it a fraction of the price of a traditional hardware based switchboard which costs several thousand pounds to purchase with additional license fees on top.
Pricing packages start from as little as £8.50 per month for a standard IP handset.
Cloud Net's small office phone system includes: all the key business features of a modern PBX (switchboard) free with a fixed subscription per handset. In addition, the "Switchboard in the Sky" is automatically upgraded without user intervention: and there are no maintenance charges.
The company's straight-forward pricing structure removes the complexity of purchasing and running a small business communications system over the internet. Cloud Net's inclusive packages consist of:
• Quality internet phones - robust, feature rich phones
• Internet based switchboard ( PBX)
• Management portal - you can configure your system really simply online
• Free calls on Cloud Net's network - great if you have offices in different locations or remote workers
• Geographic telephone numbers - no need for 0844 numbers or mobiles
• Voice mail
• Fax boxes
• Call redirect
• Call recording
• Ring back
• Conferencing
• Caller identification
Cloud Net's hosted VoIP solution allows people to talk to each other across the network irrespective of where they are, for as long as they like, free. Companies with multiple branches can suddenly conference, free. Home workers can operate as though they are in the office. Using the follow me feature mobiles become part of the network and so you can even answer when travelling.
Calls outside the Cloud Net network are also competitively priced. Sample costs include: UK landline calls from 0.9p a minute and from 9p per minute to mobiles. Cloud Net's international calling rates are also highly competitive, e.g. 1.3 p per minute to the US or 3.2p per minute to New Zealand.
Cloud Net handsets are fully configured to customers' requirements before being despatched and allow customers to plug and play their new VoIP business telephone system straight into their broadband without the need for adaptors. Watch Cloud Net's video to see how simple it really is: http://www.cloudnetuk.com/blog/bid/27099/VoIP-Goes-Plug-and-Play.
As the "Switchboard in the Sky" is highly intuitive, users can change settings simply by using the online help videos, guidebook or by contacting the support desk.
Charles Chance, Managing Director of , Cloud Net says: "We know that the success of Skype has brought a lot of attention to the possibilities of VoIP for business, so we wanted to go one step further and provide a full professional switchboard with VoIP handsets. We believe that we are the first company to allow customers to truly benefit from a plug and play business VoIP solution. We have also removed the headache of deciphering pricing plans with additional costs for features - our pricing is all inclusive for professional PBX features."
David Hill, Chairman of Cloud Net added:, "Cloud Net has built its own hosted UK VoIP telecoms network, ensuring that unlike many other hosted VoIP companies, who lease network space, the company is in full control of call quality*. Our customers are able to speak directly to the network owner, so reducing response times for support and sales queries. Although companies like Vonage and Skype already operate in the VoIP space, they don't provide full business switchboard functionality, so we are bringing a small business phone system to the market, which addresses the needs of SMEs wanting to benefit from a professional switchboard without incurring high costs."
The Cloud Net service has been piloted in the West Midlands since October 2009, and is already being successfully used by small businesses as diverse as start ups, private detectives, charities, sole traders and small consultancies. Cloud Net's latest partnership is with Gone Fishing For Business.
It offers their members the chance to have communications as professional as large companies whilst remaining local and friendly.
Gone Fishing 4 Business is a business networking organisation. It was launched in January 2008 by Chris Towe, formerly Divisional Director of the Burton & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to give the opportunity for businesses in the area to network on a regular basis. There are currently 5 meetings in Derby, Burton on Trent, Uttoxeter, Swadlincote and Walsall. There are over 200 member companies.
Gone Fishing 4 Business members are always looking for cost savings, flexibility, good service and ways to improve their green credentials. Cloud Net delivers on all these fronts and with free calls within the Cloud Net Network this is a good step to accelerating cooperation and networking between members.

The recession has put additional pressures on businesses to review their operations and question their use of resources. Every pound spent has to work harder for businesses and all communication channels must deliver more for less.
Gone Fishing 4 Business wants to for support local business with best of breed services and resources and the new partnership with Cloud Net helps ensure their members are at the leading edge of telecoms technology and services.
"Like other technologies, telecommunications are advancing on a daily basis, with established providers straining to keep up. Our phone systems operate through high speed voice optimised broadband connections, and we are at the leading edge of this technology" said David Hill, Cloud Net's Chairman.
"Companies want a contact number for life wherever they are based, lower costs and the ability to operate with as many people or branches as they want, without massive operational change or cost. This is where the new generation of telecoms we offer really helps."
With free hardware, free set up and a far cheaper line rental arrangement than is offered by other telecommunications companies, Cloud Net allows Gone Fishing For Business members to save on telecoms costs, allowing them to invest their savings in making the business more productive. And it is this approach to telecoms solutions that work with the increasingly mobile and flexible needs of a modern business, rather than one that rigidly dictates the way in which it works, that has most excited Gone Fishing For Business.
Gone Fishing For Business will be working closely with Cloud Net over the coming months to ensure that members are kept right up to date with the partnership and the benefits it can provide for them. Those wishing to find out more about the many benefits, features and functions can simply visit them at www.cloudnetuk.com for more details.

VoIP has been identified as the best performing industry for the next decade and is poised to clean up the competition. US research company IBISWorld has produced 2 very recent reports in the highlighting the VoIP industry and it's spectacular growth. The headline figure is that the industry has multiplied in size 1,790 times since it's inception in 2002. This dwarfs all other industry growth including search engines which have only (only!) multiplied 16 times in the same period.
IBISWorld say that the VoIP industry is characterised "by strong revenue increases which are expected to continue into the future. The proliferation of VoIP has been in offering a cheaper alternative to traditional wireline and wireless services, and is the primary reason for why subscriber and revenue growth has been strong."
Cloud Net, the friendly professional VoIP company based in Walsall has identified the same trends in the UK and is working towards delivering this kind of growth and success in the UK.
Managing Director of Cloud Net, Charles Chance said, "It would be a tragedy if the VoIP explosion that is happening was totally dominated by US based companies. We have the technology, the know how and the wherewithal to make this a UK based success story and we fully intend to."
Charles continued, "The benefits of business VoIP lie behind the astronomical growth of the industry. In summary these are:
- Making professional high quality telephone systems affordable for everyone
- Cutting down the cost of communication, making it free in many aspects
- Geographical location becomes unimportant - any area code can be associated with any phone
- Complete integration with other technologies making unified communications a low cost deliverable
- The most advanced feature set on the planet."

Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SSCCI) has teamed up with Cloud Net, to offer members a recession-busting telecoms package.
Businesses in the region are being offered a state of the art internet telephone system from just £6.50 a month, with a free internet-based switchboard, free internet phones, free local calls and a host of advanced call features included as standard. Cloud Net is a VOIP provider, which means that users make calls over the internet, via an internet-based switchboard called a PBX. Unlike other providers, Cloud Net operates its own network, so quality of service is guaranteed. Support is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week from friendly staff at the company's West Midlands headquarters.
The exclusive package for SSCCI members gives local companies an important competitive advantage and will help them to drive up service standards, as Cloud Net Chairman, David Hill explains:
"0845 numbers and costly call diverting can be detrimental to good customer relations, yet many businesses still use these services. It may be a cliché, but customers want to feel as though their call is important and they don't want to be charged a premium rate to contact you. Customers want the reassurance of phoning a landline number, rather than a mobile number, and they want to be able to talk to you when it suits them, rather than when it suits you. They respond favourably to being addressed by name when you pick up the phone and, if they can't talk to you direct, they want to hear a human voice, rather than a computer-generated message. Normally, features like call forwarding, conferencing, caller identification, voicemail and ring back are costly. By switching over to Cloud Net, you will receive these features at no additional cost to your business. And that is on top of free local calls, free handsets and a low monthly subscription charge."
The system that has been developed by Cloud Net offers considerable cost-savings on phone bills - typically around 40%. Calls are charged by the second rather than by the minute and they are significantly cheaper than other networks. All calls to South Staffordshire dialling codes are free.
David is in no doubt about the difference this system could make to local businesses:
"The impact on a company's bottom line of changing over to Cloud Net is easy to measure. The average business landline makes 293 calls per month, of which two thirds are landline calls. Across the West Midlands, for example, there are 801,000 business fixed lines, with the cost of calls amounting to around £246m. A Cloud Net phone costs £6.50 a month, compared to an average of £13.96 so, if everyone in the West Midlands swapped over to Cloud Net, businesses in the region would save £148m a year. That's before you take into account any savings on calls. Less easy to measure, but no less significant, is the impact of a more professional telephone system on customer service. In today's tough business environment, this is an important advantage - and one that South Staffordshire businesses can now enjoy for free."
For ore information, visit www.cloudnetuk.com/sscci or call 01922 213333 and quote SSCCI offer.
